Spektre's Respekt label is showing no signs of letting up, and proof of that is the new bomb by heavyweights Phunk Investigation. Appropriately titled "Blade Scanner", this one is an ever-building stomper and combined with the power that the boys have gotten us accustomed to, it delivers yet another punch straight to the jaw. Tomy DeClerque goes for the subtle dark route without letting go of any of the intensity, and throws in some ravey elements for added taste. The Subfractal mix holds on to the building feel of the original, with chugging percussion leading the way.
Spektre and their label Respekt have been on the forefront of Techno for quite some time now. From their peak time anthems to their intricate live performances, Paul Maddox and Filthy Rich have established themselves as favorites of technoheads from around the globe.
A natural progression to their ever-evolving agenda is their monthly new radio show on Proton Radio, Dance Radio & Dance Paradise. Featuring exclusive material from the guys, forthcoming material from their label and regular guest mixes from Respekt artists and the rest of the techno elite.
The newest Respekt installment unearths two cuts straight from the crypts of cavernous Techno. Anthony Castaldo and Snello are back on it, with two tough tracks that keep the energy levels high without losing one bit of quality. Highly emphasizing one the loopy elements of Techno, this EP is a dark rollecoaster just waiting to be derailed.
Spektre’s Respekt Recordings ploughs on towards the end of 2010 sweeping all before it. Already clocking up an astonishing fifteen releases since Matt Cooper and Spektre’s Cuernos Cubanos EP back in 2009, many of the from the Spektre boys, it’s become as much of a statement of intent as a label, putting out release after release of techno, from the cavernous and dark to the glitchy and stripped back. Their latest, the Rolling Patterns EP, comes from Italians Anthony Castaldo & Snello.
It’s a two-track monster, a pair of unrelenting main-room techno efforts. The title track starts menacingly, the throbbing bassline and rasping percs punctuated by drops, building the energy and piling back into the mix like a high speed crash. Make no mistake, this is not for the faint-hearted. Similarly, Closer is dark and moody, albeit deeper than the A-side. The insistent sub-bass and fx give the track a spine, around which the elements drop in and out, with a more solid groove than the power of Rolling Patterns. Heavy.

Always pushing the boundaries of undergound Techno, Respekt presents Sasha Carassi's debut EP for the label. We're especially pleased to present a spanking new EP from up and comers Loco and Jam in the form of the "La Surco" EP. For those living in a cave or not paying much attention to the techno radar in the last few months, Loco and Jam are one of the fastest rising production outfits on the scene, making waves with their awesome and versatile productions. On their two track EP containing "La Surco" and "Hex", the guys go straight for the jugular, donning their "peaktime" hats and throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the mix. Our next release comes from up and coming techno stalwarts, Miniminds. Already causing quite a stir throughout the scene with their blistering, high octane-yet intelligent techno, they have graciously provided us with an excellent 2 track EP showcasing their current sonic arsenal. "Splinter In Your Mind" and "Arrowhead" are fine examples of the capabilities and variety in the guys' production, with the titular track focusing on a more brooding and dark vibe, while the B-side favors a more melodic and groovy approach. The music on show here is of the highest quality and has been selected and presented with the greatest of care. Enjoy!

Always ones to embrace new talent and promote fresh sounds, we here at Respekt are proud to present Slovenian production duo, Alex & Filip. While their production career can be traced back to 2005, it is recently that they have really started to create waves and pop on radars, worldwide. Their "Morally Wrong" EP consists of 3 brand new original productions of upfront, forward thinking techno, with an emphasis on dark, brooding atmospheres and chugging beats and rhythms. For the second installment of the remix treatment for our "Casting Shadows Without Light" LP we have handpicked two more rapidly rising newcomers in Alex Di Stefano and Matt Cooper to remix "Harpoon" and "Always Too Much", respectively. Taking their cues from the originals and maintaining the strongest, most memorable elements, they have both done us proud and offered excellent alternative interpretations of the already hugely successful and well regarded originals.

Our 10th release comes courtesy of up and coming Techno bod, Seegee. Hailing from Nottingham, a city rich in electronic music, he is fast becoming a name to watch on the techno and tech-house radar and this double a-side EP should aptly demonstrate why. "Mudma" is a chugging, rolling monster of a techno track complemented by heaving effected and panned stabs that merge with the swirling, chaotic synth swells to create a tense, visceral peaktime bomb. "The "Frog and the Onion" maintains a similar ethic, if only shifting the groove slightly and adding some well advised swing to the proceedings. Add to that a highly catchy, repetitive hook and a some excellent percussive nods to the old school and you've got a potent, smoldering mix to cause a stir on many a dancefloor. Not for the fainthearted!
Feedbacks: Umek - "very cool noisey track!!!" Stephan Bodzin - "mudma roxx a lot!!" Tocadisco - "great stuff" Marco Bailey - "great Mudma !" Marco V - "Great track, thanks!" Mihalis Safras - "mudma is a roller! will deff play it!" Loco & Jam - "First time hearing SEEGEE and big fan already!!! Both these tracks will be getting hammered by us over the summer!!!" Demi (S.O.S.) - "LOVING THE CHAOS...." Matthias Heilbronn - "liking the Frog!!" The Scumfrog - "Very good groove for deep moments" Anthony Pappa - "Both tracks are good. My favourite is "Mudma (Original Mix)" and l will play this out." Matt Cooper - "Digging the EP, 'the frog and the onion' does it for me though, perfect for when you want to step it up a notch! That hook's real catchy, wicked release guys! " Wehbba - "the frong and the onion is really cool peaktimer, it doesn't abuse the shuffled groove and has a very catchy groove!"
With Spektre's debut album causing a bit of a stir worldwide, it seemed like a very logical progression to to take two of the album's highlights and have them remixed by some of our favorite and most esteemed techno producers. Umek and Reset Robot hardly need any introduction-their many productions having cemented their reputations as A-listers in the techno world. Umek turns his hand to "Casting Shadows Without Light" and turns in a characteristically pounding version of the excellent original fusing his trademark drum and bass programming with Spekre's vocals and original parts to devastating effect. Reset Robot goes for "Descent" and creates a heads down percussion led dancefloor shaker, that is sure to stir up some commotion on a wide variety of dancefloors, the world over!
Feedbacks: Groove Armada - "reset robot mix is ace" Popof - "great package !" Stephan Bodzin - "great mixes!" Mihalis Safras - "loving both mixes actually!" Miss Kittin - "Both good!!!" Fergie - "Nice mixes guys, reset Robot is ace as is umek :-0 " Jim Rivers - "reset robot mix is the one for me here, bringing the funk" Slam - "they just keep coming - another big room package" Tom Hades - "Umek's remix is the one for me ! Thanks !" Lucca - "Both tracks i will use:)" Gennaro Le Fosse - "Umek mix for me!!! Support!!" Loco & Jam - "Great Remixes.. Will support Both.." Ivan Smagghe - "monster umek remix..." D-Nox - "will play umeks mix, good for big dancefloors. " Erphun - "Wicked package!! Reset Robot lays down some funk with class!!! :) Wicked tune! Full support. " Dave Seaman - "umek mix is solid!" Hernan Cattaneo - "umek mix for me" King Unique (1) - "dave doing the damage as ever" Misstress Barbara - "will play both mixes" Joseph Capriati - "full support from me,great remixes!" Marco V - "The Umek remix is just fantastic, peaktime monster!" Anthony Pappa - "Both tracks are really good. My favourite is "Descent (Reset Robot Remix)" and l will play this out. Thanks. Pappa." D-Unity - "Killer Umek remix!!!! " Marco Bailey - "will play both mixes !" Neil Quiggley - "Both mixes are ace, excellent stuff."
Respekt is the new label from Spektre; undoubtedly one of the hottest new acts to emerge in 2009. Lauded by the dance press, championed by the biggest names in techno (Vath, Dubfire, Garnier) and hugely popular with fans across the spectrum, Spektre's explosive sound has defines big room techno.
Having collaborated with Spektre on Respekt Recordings debut release, Matt Cooper now graduates to a full solo release for the label with his double aside Torture EP. A resident at Leeds' Dirty Disco events, Matt is one of the fastest rising talents in UK techno; known for his twisting and turning sets that cover a range of styles from deep melodic house to dark mind-warping techno.
Brazen Bull see's Cooper in deep and devastating form. Built on a foundation of a steady kick and minimized percussion, a throbbing groove provides a purposeful platform for the fx-laden vocal to enhance the tracks tense energy.
Pear Of Anguish twists things out even more with a driving, 'heads-down' groove combining with a nasty buzzing bassline that morphs through various undulating tones to create a constantly evolving and extremely effective hook.
Feedbacks: Umek - "cool tune!!!" Adam Beyer - "sounds good" John Digweed - "good stuff" Mihalis Safras - "proper techno!" Popof- "cool ep !" Misstress Barbara - "Really like The Pear Of Anguish" Slam - "really like Matts productions – playing" The Advent - "the pear of anguish.. 10/10" Joseph Capriati - "nice ep,i will play The Pear..." Hernan Cattaneo - "very good" Jerome Ism-Ae - "in my case" Cari Lekebusch - Ill work the Brazen Bull, good forward leaning track Tom Hades - "Love the darker atmosphere of The Pear Of Anguish ! Thanks !" Lucca - "Brazen Bull rocks!" Loco & Jam - "Big Matt Cooper fans and this is no exception... Great Ep.. Full Support on both Tracks.. Will be hammering all over the summer.."

PRESS RELEASE
Our money’s on summer 2010 being a vintage year for live British dance music. Sure, the old guard such as Leftfield, Underworld, Way Out West, and Orbital will be picking up the headlines for their return to the festival circuit, but in terms of new blood, look no further than techno duo, Spektre.
Hailing from Sheffield - no stranger itself to successful man/machine syntheses - the pairing of ‘Filthy’ Rich and Paul Maddox is part of a new breed of rave-inspired, intelligent dance music young bucks.
They took the Glade festival and SW4 crowds by storm in 2009, having already travelled the UK, South American, US and European gig circuits packing out venues with their distinctive brand of exceptionally danceable electronic body music.
Release-wise, their productions and remixes for the likes of Fever Ray, Lionrock, Future Sound Of London, and many more, have afforded them plenty of plaudits from blogs and techno’s aristocracy (Sven Vath, Ritchie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, and Dubfire are all fans).
‘Casting Shadows Without Light’ is an astonishing debut album. CD 1 is a mixture of vocal electronica, spoken word samples, sci-fi audio steals, and instrumentals, as the 13 tracks veer from noisy epics and ether-soaked techno torch songs, to ambient interludes and an atmospheric drum n bass closer. And when it comes to a delicate use of melody, Spektre exude more warmth and beauty in 16 bars than a thousand indie troubadours ever will.
CD2 brings together a selection of extended mixes from the album, each in a longer form with a nod to the band’s dancefloor origins.
International dates in the UK, Europe, Australia, Israel, Slovenia, US, and beyond, begin from February, touring the album with their all-new live show. Please see http://www.myspace.com/spektre1 full details.

Press Release:
► Respekt is the brand new label from Spektre; undoubtedly one of the hottest new acts to emerge in 2009. Lauded by the dance press, championed by the biggest names in techno (Vath, Dubfire, Garnier) and hugely popular with fans across the techno spectrum, Spektre’s big explosive sound has defined 2009.
The vision of producers / DJs Paul Maddox and Richard Wakley, Spektre was founded on a shared love for minimal techno and a willingness to experiment unmercifully with new sounds. Drawing inspiration as much from the old as the new their trademark sinister sound has wow-d fellow DJ and crowds alike.
Vektor is a dark destroyer. Building through waves of stripped back grooves, the main rising synth and acid laden hook comes flying out of the break with a force that is sure to knock over any peak-time dancefloor. Included on this package is the Vektool tool that isolates the sparse acid line for sampling fun!
Incognito continues the stripped back vibe of the EP with more rumbling deepness for the dark side. Fixed around a tight groove that shunts along at pace, this late-night cut gathers depth from the melodic undertones of the undulating hook to contrast neatly with the minimized starkness of the beats.
► After amazing gigs in Miami for 1605, BluFin, Yoshitoshi and Techno Marathon, Spektre this weekend are playing at: Spektre Live @ Doof Festival, Israel
Some kind words recently from Umek: ► “Spektre have been one of the most consistent and solid production outfits in recent memory and I, for one, have become a huge fan and supporter of their sound. Whether they are producing mad, peak time bombs, or setting dancefloors on fire with their awesome live sets, these guys are de...finitely ones to watch and a bright shining light for the shape and sound of techno to come!"
► Joey Beltram, Stephan Bodzin, Reset Robot, Fergie, Hernan Cattaneo, Tattoo Detectives, Marco V, Alan Fitzpatrick, Matt Cooper, Mark Knight, Nick Warren, Gennaro Le Fosse, Joel Mull, 2000 and One, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Dave Seaman, André Sobota, Erphun, Karotte, Markantonio, Tim Xavier, Nihad Tule and many more...

Drawing inspiration as much from the old as the new their trademark sinister sound has wow-d fellow DJ and crowds alike.
Spektre display once again their art for creating powerful, twisted techno music for dark room. Subversive and off-kilter, Black Ice combines heavy oppressive bass with firing beats to set up a high-octane backdrop to tee up a crowd-pleasing break of sparse, stretched sirens. Robust big room techno...
Balancing out the sound of this EP, Tesseract provides the ying to the yang of Black Ice. Epic in its construction and centered on a playful lead melody and huge drawn-out-string breakdown, it is the carefully proportioned measures of atmospheric tension and euphoric release that provide the punch.
RESPEKT is the label manifestation of the internationally recognised artist duo Spektre. It has been developed as a base for the research and exploration of their sound and to experiment within the new and innovative world of electronic music that we live in today. Derived from an anagram of Spektre, the Respekt label stands for the artist’s interminable belief in the underground soundtrack that spans the globe, and for the inspiration they gleam from producing, performing, and moving in the circles it revolves in.
As two of the most widely respected techno artists to come out of the UK in recent times, founders Paul Maddox & Richard Wakley have travelled the world in the past three years performing the Spektre LIVE show, to rapturous acclaim. While stealing the show at clubs around the globe, they have been inspired by cultures from every dance floor, and as producers they have released on the crème de la crème of techno's elite labels.
Massive support has come from the likes of techno kings Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Dubfire and Laurent Garnier, while James Zabiela has championed them as his “ones to watch” and quotes “Spektre's productions consist of solid techno that really remembers the rave. Music that is cool but also fun and highly danceable. These guys are just going to get bigger"…
The natural progression is their label RESPEKT, with the first release due at the end of November and another three before Spring serving as a build up to their eagerly anticipated debut studio album, due for release in early 2010.
